As we get older, there
are prone to be health problems. Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive disease
which robs people of their ability to function normally. Symptoms will
gradually worsen over the years, leaving the individual to lose memory and
respond to their environment in a healthy way.
It is the sixth leading cause of death in America. Depending on age and
other health matters, an individual with Alzheimer’s has a survival rate on
average from four to 20 years.
The good news is there
are promising Alzheimer’s
treatments
on
the horizon. While current treatments that are available temporarily slow the
symptoms, stem cell research has made some strides in amazing research
breakthroughs. Alzheimer's disease treatment through fetal stem cells injections may not as of yet cure the
disease, however, this therapy is helping to minimize some of symptoms and
delay onset of dementia.
Alzheimer’s disease is
responsible for up to 80 percent of dementia case. As the disease progresses,
serious cognitive abilities are compromised and memory loss is inevitable. The
ability to function with daily life becomes overwhelmingly dysfunctional,
requiring a caregiver. Medical research with stem cell therapy may be the
answer to the prevention of Alzheimer’s and other diseases.
